Adventures, work and the girls...

Not too much going on lately. We've just been busy, busy, busy. I started my new job and I am really LOVING it. It's working out well. I take the girls to school, go to work, pick the girls up from school and come home to cook dinner and get the girls ready for the next day. Every thing is working out perfectly!!

I had a little adventure over the weekend. I met my mom, stepdad and sister at a mexican restaurant/bar to watch the Kansas Jayhawks (win, of course!). I left the bar to head home. As I'm driving along the highway about 2 miles from my exit, I hear a LOUD POP. I knew something was wrong. I pulled over to find that the drivers side rear tire had blown! I don't have a cell phone right now and I was all by myself. I have changed a tire before but I couldn't find figure out how to get the donut from under the van and I couldn't find the tire iron(not knowing that the handle to the jack works as a the tire iron). After sitting on the side of the highway for about 30 minutes trying to figure all this out on my own, a VERY nice guy stopped and asked if I needed help. He changed the tire for me and I was back on my way home. I was sooo thankful that he helped me. I thought I was going to be sitting on the side of the highway all night! At least now I know how to change the tire if this ever happens again.

Not much new to report with the girls. They are still doing VERY well in school. They have conferences coming up in February. Their school does student led conferences. Both of the girls' teachers asked me if it was okay for 3 people from the national expeditionary learning conference to sit in on the girls' conferences. They will be overseeing and evaluating how the school is doing. The girls' teachers felt that they both do very well leading their conference and would be good candidates for this!

I finally started my new job!!

I started my job with a client this week. I absolutely love it. I'm working Mon, Tues, THurs and Fri, from 9am-2pm. The schedule is PERFECT. I still get to take the girls to school and be done in time to pick them up from school. I can even make it to school parties when they have them!! My client is a very nice lady. She is 94 and in very good health for her age. She reminds me a lot of my grandma. She was very hesitant about me coming in today. She didn't really like the idea of someone coming to care for her during the day but I think we hit it off well. Her daughter even told me that my client already likes me!! I am just so excited to have a job that I enjoy and look forwarding to going too. It's even motivated me to get back to school and get my CNA certification and hopefully go up from there!!

Faith got her cast off!!

Today was Faith's follow up appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. She was able to get her cast off. They did 3 x-rays and the doctor checked it out and everything looked good!! Faith is walking around on it just fine! She is sooo relieved to have it off. She got to take a normal bath tonight. That was much easier on me!!

Faith lost her 1st tooth!!!!

Faith has had a loose tooth for over a month now. I've been trying to get her to let me pull it out and she was too scared. It has barely been hanging on over the past couple days. Of course, she went back to school today and lost it! Her teacher let her call me about 1pm to tell me that she lost her tooth. She was soo excited. She got a special tooth necklace from the nurse to save her tooth in!! It's the bottom front tooth on the left that she lost. I will post a pic ASAP. I tried to take a picture of her when she got home from school and my camera battery was dead :( She has put it under her pillow in her special tooth case/pillow!! I KNOW the tooth fairy will be very generous since this is her first lost tooth. Paige has been soo great and happy for Faith. She made her a poster that said she lost her first tooth. She made her a special bracelet with her jewelry kit that she got for christmas. She's such a great big sister!!

Random Thoughts..

I haven't posted anything in a while so I figured I would update. The girls went back to school today. Everyone was surprised to see Faith return with a cast. She's getting very tired of the cast. She keeps telling me that she wants it off. She's very upset that she can't participate in P.E. class. We go back to the doctor next week. I hope it's better then!
The weather has been crazy. We have had snow since Christmas Eve. It's been freezing cold. We are currently under a winter storm warning through Thursday. We are supposed to receive 3-5 more inches of snow and the windchill is supposed to be 15-25 degrees below. If it snows like they say I have a feeling the girls will be out of school on Thursday.

We are all very excited to learn today that Grandma Claire and Aunt Carolyn will be coming to visit us over Spring Break. They will be bringing Haylee with them and we are even more excited about that!!! The girls especially can't wait to see ya'll!!!! We will definitely have a GREAT time!
